This 3,760 acre preserve has over 19 miles of trails, marshes, pine flatwoods, hardwood hammocks and ranchland.

The first phase of improvements is completed and includes picnic areas, parking lot, information kiosk and trail markers.

The next phase will include an expanded parking area for horse trailers, restroom, picnic pavilion and more.

A Little History
This site was jointly purchased in 2010 between Sarasota County, using Environmentally Sensitive Lands Protection Program funds, and Southwest Florida Water Management District.

The preserve has the potential to serve as a regional “trail hub” for a conservation corridor that extends from the Myakka River to the Peace River.
