 Jim Neville Marine Preserve

Little Sarasota Bay, Sarasota, FL

image of Great Blue Heron

Named for Jim Neville, a renowned Sarasota environmentalist, this island is a popular boating destination.

With its very low elevation, it makes for a wet hike during high tides, but the variety of coastal birds, plants, and wildlife make it well worthwhile.

See the Neville Marine Preserve Trail, from Paddle Sarasota, a Guide to Sarasota's kayak and canoe trails.

Please pack your trash off the island: "Leave no Trace".
