 ​Blackburn Point Park

Blackburn Point Park is a 15-acre water access park, comprised of three nodes/sections, having each one their individual characteristics and amenities.

The west node (located west of the historic swing bridge on the north side of Blackburn Point Road) amenities include:
  • restrooms,
  • covered picnic tables,
  • kayak/sculling launch with floating dock (non-motorized boats only), and
  • parking for cars and non-motorized boat trailers only.
The central node, (also known as Fisherman’s Island is located east of the swing bridge) amenities include:
  • several fishing piers,
  • picnic area,
  • kayak launch,
  • boardwalk to east node and
  • parking for cars and non-motorized boat trailers only.
The east node amenities include: 
  • 2-lane motorized boat ramp,
  • restrooms,
  • parking for motorized boat trailers only, with limited car parking,
  • nature trail,
  • fishing pier, and
  • several covered picnic tables. 

Opened in April 2015, this boat ramp services Little Sarasota Bay, Dryman Bay and the Gulf of Mexico through the Venice Inlet.

Hours
Open year round from 6 a.m. to midnight.

Fisherman's Island and the west node are closed to vehicles from 12 midnight to 6 a.m.
