A Paw Park for your best friend, and the rest of the park offers organized softball and soccer leagues throughout the year for a variety of ages. 
  
Planned Improvements: renovation of existing lighting of the three primary fields at the complex with the installation of new poles and fixtures.
   
History: the adult softball complex was constructed in 1993 and the soccer fields were completed in 1995.
 
The paw park was the first paw park in the county when it was completed in 1999. Since that time three more paw parks have been constructed. Visit "Dogs in Parks" for details.

​17th Street Park (including Miss Sarasota Softball, 17th Street Soccer and 17th Street Adult Softball) is a 96-acre park located on 17th Street, between Honore Avenue and Beneva Road.

Paw Park: a Paw Park area has covered picnic tables, a drinking fountain for dogs and waste disposal bags. For small dogs and their owners there is a separate fenced area with a covered picnic table and additional bench seating.
