Promotes responsible use of pesticides, fertilizers and other chemicals to limit unintended impacts to the health of humans, animals and the environment.
Educates and empowers citizens by promoting awareness of our diverse natural resources, and fostering connections with and conservation of our unique and vulnerable ecosystems by providing environmental education, outdoor recreation, and wellness opportunities.
Provides residents, businesses and agencies with education, hands-on experience and other tools to preserve the quality and abundance of coastal and marine resources, in ways that highlight the social and economic benefits of these ecosystems.
Conserves the natural capital of Sarasota County that is the basis for its prosperity and sustainability by increasing community awareness of local natural systems and support of ecological land management programs.
Works with residents, businesses, volunteers, and community organizations to develop and implement waste diversion and resource reduction strategies that decrease waste generation, to create a healthier, more sustainable Sarasota County.
Uses education and citizen science to increase awareness of water connectedness to build a conservation ethic that will sustain and protect our water supply and preserve our quality of life.
