This year’s pavement rejuvenation project began on February 25^th. Through a contract with Pavement Technology Inc, this asphalt rejuvenation treatment will replace the vital ingredients that have been lost from the pavement binder over time.  This preventative maintenance process is a cost-effective way to extend the life of the pavement, helping Sarasota County protect one of our largest assets and increase the pavement service life. When sprayed on the road surface, Reclamite is initially pink colored to check the product coverage on the roadway before it is completely absorbed into the pavement. The pavement is then lightly sanded to improve friction until the product gets absorbed and the sand is vacuumed the next day. Lane closures are to be expected but there will be access to the driveways at all times. Residents in these areas will be notified ahead of time by Pavement Technology Inc crew with the help of door hangers. Work is scheduled to end March 7^th.
