Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7, 2026
Garbage, recycling and yard waste collection schedule:
Curbside collection will run as follows:
- Monday, Sept.7: No Collection.
Since the holiday falls on Monday, trash, recycling and yard waste will be collected one day later than the regularly scheduled pickup day for the rest of the week.
- Tuesday, Sept. 8: Collection for Monday customers.
- Wednesday, Sept. 9: Collection for Tuesday customers.
- Thursday, Sept. 10: Collection for Wednesday customers.
- Friday, Sept. 11: Collection for Thursday customers.
- Saturday, Sept. 12: Collection for Friday customers. The Central County Landfill will remain open until 4:30 p.m. but Construction Debris will close at 1:30 p.m.
Regular collection days resume the following Monday
Facility closures
- Bee Ridge Chemical Collection Center (North)
The Bee Ridge Chemical Collection Center, administrative office and The Re-Uz-It Shop at 8750 Bee Ridge Road will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7.
- Venice Chemical Collection Center (South)
The Venice Chemical Collection Center at 250 S. Jackson Road will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7.
- Landfill (Central County)
The Central County Landfill and the administrative office at 4000 Knights Trail Road will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7.

Regular office hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Disposal
Regular disposal hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Chemical Collection Center**
Regular disposal hours are Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Re-Uz-It Shop**
Regular shop hours are Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

All Sarasota County Solid Waste facilities and operations are closed five (5) days every year:
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
- New Year's Day

*This information applies only to residents living in unincorporated Sarasota County. Residents living in the cities of Venice, North Port, Sarasota and Town of Longboat Key are governed by separate collection programs.
