HURRICAN MILTON DEBRIS COLLECTION COMPLETE
Sarasota County’s debris contractors have completed emergency debris removal operations in unincorporated Sarasota County as of Jan. 10, meeting the 90-day target completion date approved by the state. More than 2.3 million cubic yards of vegetative material, household goods and construction and demolition materials were collected.
The removal of any material remaining curbside or on private property is now the property owner’s responsibility.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR REMOVAL/DISPOSAL
Prepare materials for regular curbside collection.- Smaller pieces of vegetative material (leaves, moss, small branches, etc.) or construction and demolition material (shingles, wood, fencing, etc.) should be properly prepared for curbside collection during regular weekly collection.
- Place in bags, bundles or containers and materials should be less than four feet in length and less than 40 pounds in weight. Residents may place up to the equivalent of four 32-gallon containers of construction and demolition materials at this curb each week for collection.
