Your service provider will provide delivery information.

What if I have excess garbage before my additional cart's delivery?

Only materials placed in the garbage cart will be picked up. Items left outside the cart will not be picked up.

Four (4) Free Annual Bulk Pick-Ups

Each residential property is eligible for four free bulk pick-ups (up to 10 cubic yards) per calendar year with the option to request additional bulk collection services at the curb (supplemental collection fees apply). Residents may also utilize one of the free community cleanup events hosted by Sarasota County Code Enforcement or dispose of materials at the Central County Landfill (applicable disposal fees apply). For more information on community cleanup events, visit scgov.net/codeenforcement.

What is a Bulk Pickup?

A bulk pickup is a service for large items that do not fit inside the provided garbage cart. These items might include furniture, appliances, large household items, or other types of debris that are too big to be disposed of in your regular trash container.

Need Extra Help with Your Garbage? Here’s What You Can Do

What should I do with my old garbage containers?

Residents are encouraged to repurpose old garbage containers, if possible.

Yard waste
Use old containers for yard waste material collection and disposal.
Storage
  • Yard and garden equipment
  • Sports equipment
  • Pet supplies
Create a home composting bin
  1. Drill holes in the bottom and sides of the container to provide circulation.
  2. Place the container on bricks to keep it off the ground and provide air circulation under the container.
  3. Add uncooked vegetable scraps, leaves, grass clippings and plant materials.
  4. Keep the compost moist and turn it every two weeks. It can be turned by locking the lid in place and rolling it around.

For more information about composting, visit https://sfyl.ifas.ufl.edu/sarasota/natural-resources/waste-reduction/composting/.
