Backflow Prevention
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Florida Administrative Code (“F.A.C.”) Chapter 62-555.360, “Cross-Connection Control for Public Water Systems”, requires that all water utilities establish and implement a Cross-Connection Control Program (the “Program”) to protect the community water system from contamination caused by cross-connections. The Program includes a written plan using accepted practices of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) Manual M14.
The CROSS-CONNECTION CONTROL PROGRAM MANUAL is adopted by Resolution 2019-060 and provides the responsible parties with the understanding and importance of cross-connection control. Utilities will update the manual as necessary due to changes in regulatory standards.
