Water Billing Adjustments:
Customers are eligible to submit a request for a Concealed Leak or Abnormal Event that caused a substantial increase in water usage on the customer’s side of the water meter.
Wastewater Billing Adjustments:
Customers are eligible to submit a request for a Concealed Leak, Initial Pool Fill, or Abnormal Event that caused a substantial increase in water usage on the Customer’s side of the water meter, which did not enter the sewer system.
In both cases:
A written request must be submitted to Sarasota Public Utilities within three (3) months of the repair of a Concealed Leak, Abnormal Event, or Initial Pool Fill (wastewater only).
That request must include:
- The cause of the leak.
- The Date the leak was repaired or initial pool fill.
- A copy of the paid receipt for supplies and/or labor associated with repairing the leak and the cause must have been corrected.
The adjustment request can be submitted for consideration by:
- Submitting a Billing Adjustment Form
Please Note:
While waiting for a decision on an adjustment request, customers need to make a good faith payment of their average regular monthly bill to avoid suspension of service. Please note if an adjustment is processed any remaining balance will need to be paid in full.
