Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources operates and maintains 13 recreation centers that span the County from University Parkway to River Road while offering a wide variety of recreational opportunities.

Programming at the recreation centers include fitness classes, pickleball, concerts, swim teams, summer camps, craft shows, tennis leagues and family events such as Breakfast with Santa and the Egg Splash.  

Recreation Centers are located throughout Sarasota County and have rentable amenities including classrooms, conference rooms, picnic shelters, gymnasiums, open space, outdoor tennis, pickleball and basketball courts, and pools.

These amenities are used for leagues, weddings, meetings, instructional classes, team practices.

There are specialty facilities such as the Pistol and Rifle Range at Knight Trail Park or Har-Tru tennis courts at Payne Park Tennis Center as well as historical facilities like Phillippi Estate Park. There are also nature center at Lemon Bay Park and Shamrock Park.

Recreational facilities serve as community hubs for homeowner meetings as well as programming including Summer Camp, seasonal out of school programming, concerts, tournaments, shows, garage sales, and facility events such as Breakfast with Santa at Newtown Estates Park or the Pickleball Slam at Englewood Sports Complex.
