Family Bike Adventures at the Beautiful Carlton Reserve
Got bikes? It's the perfect weather to grab your whole family and join Sarasota County and Carlton Reserve volunteer guides, David Reynolds and Gary Vasbinder, for an off-road wilderness bicycle ride through the beautiful T. Mabry Carlton, Jr. Memorial Reserve (Carlton Reserve). Ride time will be approximately 1 to 2 hours. Expect to see a lot of wildlife!

Late Night Geminid Meteor Shower Viewing
Be sure to get to bed extra early on Wednesday, Dec. 13, so you can get up for this midnight glimpse of one of the year's best meteor showers. Join Environmental Specialist Jeff Weber at midnight (as Wednesday turns to Thursday) for a rare late-night excursion to view one of nature's nighttime spectacles. Viewing will be at its peak during this event and participants may see upwards of several dozen meteors per hour.
Be sure to bring a flashlight, folding chair, blanket, insect spray and light snacks for best enjoyment. Be sure to provide a phone number and email address when signing up in case a last minute cancellation is required due to cloud cover or inclement weather. Note: minors must be accompanied by an adult.
