Phillippi Estate Park located on the shores of Phillippi Creek, is a scenic, 60-acre natural area park south of downtown Sarasota and east of Siesta Key. The park features environmental, recreational, historical and archaeological amenities, including the historic Edson Keith Mansion listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

The beauty of the park and facilities can be enjoyed by residents and visitors seven days a week. The facilities are available upon request for corporate, community and cultural events, art exhibits, private receptions and weddings.

The Edson Keith Mansion features a large foyer, spacious living room, twin sunrooms with Palladian windows, as well as a paneled library and gracious dining room.

  • Ceremonies can take place either inside the Mansion or outside on the lawn.
  • There are several choices of outdoor locations for ceremonies to take advantage of the creek and park views.
  • There is also a small arbor near the rose garden that offers excellent photo opportunities.

This historic Italian Renaissance home on the shores of the Phillippi Creek and within Phillippi Estate Park, was built in 1916 and has become an ideal site for art exhibits, private events, wedding ceremonies and receptions. The Mansion overlooks Phillippi Creek, which is bordered by graceful palm trees and moss draped mature oaks.

The Edson Keith Mansion is on the National Register of Historic Places and specific rental conditions and guidelines apply to its use.

The Gazebo sits on the south west side of the park, near the children's playground, kayak launch, fishing pier and nature trails, and it is often used as a stage for concerts, family reunions, children's birthday parties, and small wedding ceremonies.

  • The gazebo and the open space facing the gazebo are two separate rentable areas. The open space facing the gazebo is called Area B.
  • The gazebo is comprised by a series of three interconnected pavilions with the central one holding approximately 32 people or four picnic tables.
    • The two flanking smaller pavilions hold approximately eight people or one picnic table, for a total of 48 guests.

Renting

Rental of Edson Keith Mansion includes use of the 85' x 16' terrace; lawn behind the mansion down to the fishing pier; rose garden; and indoor tables and chairs for 120 guests.

  • Additional chairs and tables may be brought in by rental companies.
  • The home can accommodate 150 guests for a sit-down dinner.
  • Rental also includes, a suite of rooms on the second floor to be used by brides and bridesmaids, and a separate suite for the groom and groomsmen, to prepare for wedding ceremonies.
  • Amplified music is permitted, subject to the Sarasota County noise ordinance.
  • Alcoholic beverages are also permitted and caterers may use the butler’s pantry with commercial freezer and the kitchen with commercial refrigerator.
  • A two hour outside-rehearsal time is included as available.

Rental fees for the Edson Keith Mansion
  • October through May and holidays, per day (up to 15 hours).   
    • Friday, Saturday, Sunday - $4,200 plus tax.
    • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - $3,400 plus tax.
  • June through September, per day (up to 15 hours).   
    • Any day - $3,400 plus tax.
  •  Separate, refundable security deposit in the amount of $750 is required per event.
  •  20% of the rental fee is due at the time of reservation.
Rental fees for the Gazebo
  • October through May and holidays, four hours
    • Friday, Saturday, Sunday - $130 plus tax.
    • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - $65 plus tax.
  • June through September, four hours
    • Any day - $65 plus tax.
  • Separate, refundable security deposit in the amount of $100 is required per event.

Rental fees for open space areas

Open Space Area A - Front field bordering U.S. 41
  • October through May and holidays, six hours
    • Friday, Saturday, Sunday - $600 plus tax.
    • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - $300 plus tax.
  • June through September, six hours
    • Any day - $300 plus tax.
  • Separate, refundable security deposit in the amount of $250 is required per event. 
Open Space Area B - back of park, in front of Gazebo, bounded by sidewalks and playground
  • October through May and holidays, six hours
    • Friday, Saturday, Sunday - $300 plus tax.
    • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - $150 plus tax.
  • June through September, six hours
    • Any day  - $150 plus tax.
  • Separate, refundable security deposit in the amount of $250 is required per event. 
Open Space Area C - south boundary of park
  • October through May and holidays, six hours
    • Friday, Saturday, Sunday - $480 plus tax.
    • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - $240 plus tax.
  • June through September, six hours
    • Any day  - $240 plus tax.
  • Separate, refundable security deposit in the amount of $250 is required per event.
