While visiting open parks, beaches and courts, we are asking for people to continue to maintain social distancing. Please keep groups to 10 or less and 6 feet apart.
Concessions - Sarasota County park and beach concessions are currently open and operating. (This is subject to change.)
Commercial Recreation and Tour Operator Program - Commercial Recreation and Tour Operator (CRTO) programs have resumed at Turtle Beach Park and Ted Sperling Nature Park.
R/C Squadron - The R/C Squadron at Rothenbach Park and the R/C Fliers of Venice at the Central County Solid Waste Complex are open to members only. At this time, no visitors or guests are permitted.
Beach Access - Parking is now available at county-owned beaches. Chairs, coolers and canopies are also allowed. Amenities and picnic shelters will remain closed. These areas will be opened as part of Phase 3 of beach reopening. Restrooms are open.
Courts - Pickleball, tennis, basketball, volleyball and shuffleboard courts are open. Courts are available for use with the following guidelines and restrictions:
One-hour maximum time frame of use per match.
Those waiting for the courts to open must remain 6 feet apart.
Maintain social distancing in all areas off the courts and keep groups to 10 or less and 6 feet apart.
All court activity and compliance will be monitored by Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources staff.
Turtle Beach Campground - Turtle Beach Campground is open. Reservations are fully open.
Dog Parks - All Sarasota County dog parks open.
Playgrounds - Playgrounds reopened Saturday, June 13.
Knight Trail Park - Knight Trail Park Pistol and Rifle Range is open.
RESERVATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS Update
Indoor events and reservations are cancelled through June 14. Outdoor events and one time reservations are also cancelled through June 14. Outdoor reoccuring reservations/programs have begun operating as of June 1 with approved plans and applicable insurance.
We are reactivating facility reservations effective Monday, June 15. If you are interested in resuming use of interior facility space, please contact the recreation or nature center of your choice or call 941-861-PARK (7275) to begin the process. You may also enter an online request for most facilities here. Once the request is received, you will be contacted for further instructions before your reservation is finalized. (Please note that facilities hosting summer camp are not included in the facility reservations reactivation.)
Leagues have begun operating as of June 1 with an approved operating plan and proof of sanctioning body approval.
If you have a May or June reservation in one of our parks and you would like to cancel or reschedule, please contact us by emailing email@example.com or by calling 941-861-(PARK) 7275. There are no administrative or cancelation fees for any reservations through July 11; full refunds will be processed.
We are remaining diligent in the operations of our parks and facilities in a safe, clean manner.
