About our Creation Stations
What are Creation Stations?
Creation Stations are commonly referred to as Makerspaces, or Hackerspaces in communities where individuals can gather to use shared equipment and learn new skills.
Where are the existing Creations Stations?
In Sarasota County, Creation Stations are currently available at Selby Library and the Shannon Staub Library. Both locations offer sewing classes, 3D printing and open labs where patrons can come in and work on their own projects or follow a guided activity. Shannon Staub Library offers a monthly program entitled "Your Idea Co.", which invites tweens and teens to brainstorm inventions and use the Creation Station to make ideas a reality. Selby Library offers a multigenerational DIY Time series where patrons ages 6 and up are invited to create a different project every week.
Check our Events Calendar for upcoming programs and workshops by filtering the Program Type to "Creation Station" and unleash your creativity at the library.
