The Office of Homeless Services’ mission is to ensure there is an effective system in place which engages and empowers individuals and families who have no home or are at risk of losing their home, to find and maintain stable housing.

There are people right here in Sarasota County who need help. You may believe that giving money directly is the best way to help these individuals. There are better alternatives to giving money away directly.

 

Community Action Agency Board (CAAB)- Advise and make recommendations to the County Commission on programs and services for low-income households, as well as barriers that low-income households face regarding their ability to be self-sufficient or upwardly mobile.

CAAB meetings are quarterly — Second Thursday of February, May, September, and November, unless additional meetings are needed, 4 p.m. at the William L. Little Health and Human Services Center, 2200 Ringling Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34237
