As Sarasota County residents prepare for the 2025 hurricane season, the county will hold self-serve opportunities for residents to fill and collect sandbags for potential tropical weather.

Empty bags and sand will be provided free of charge.

The sandbag operations will be held at the following locations Sept. 14 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Ed Smith Stadium, 2700 12th St., Sarasota
• Twin Lakes Park, 6700 Clark Road, Sarasota
• South County Fleet, 4571 State Road 776/Englewood Road, Venice

Should tropical weather threaten Sarasota County this hurricane season, Sarasota County will announce additional sandbag opportunities ahead of those approaching weather systems to our area.
