A deeply rooted commitment to service
Sarasota County's 2025 accomplishments reflect our commitments to improving quality of life and supporting infrastructure. Support for these actions was confirmed by our annual citizen survey: 95 percent of respondents rated their quality of life in Sarasota County as good or excellent and of those respondents that have contacted the county for assistance, 90 percent said they received correct information from county staff.
The county administrator is the chief administrative officer for the county and is solely responsible for managing day-to-day operations including oversight of Governmental Relations, Public Utilities, and Stormwater - with the exception of operations in the Office of the County Attorney.
The deputy county administrator reports directly to the county administrator and also acts as the county’s chief financial management officer. In his capacity as DCA, he oversees the operations of Capital Projects, Emergency Services, Enterprise Information Technology, Financial Management, General Services, Health and Human Services, Human Resources and Transportation.
The assistant county administrator reports directly to the county administrator and oversee the operations of Communications, Libraries and Historical Resources, Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources, Planning and Development Services, Solid Waste, Transit and UF/IFAS Extension and Sustainability.
