Governing Legislation:  Resolution 2025-023

Purpose: Provides a conduit for citizen input to the Sarasota County Commission regarding Behavioral Health Services, including policy and funding recommendations.

Requirements: 7 members 

  • Sarasota County School Board, or a designated representative employed by the Sarasota County School Board
  • Sarasota County Sheriff, or a designated representative employed by the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office
  • 3 Health services professional, psychiatrist, psychologist, or behavioral health professional
  • 2 Citizen-at-large representatives

Term: 3 years, staggered upon initial terms
