National experts and local leaders shared insights on both innovative practices for sustainability as well as collaborative ventures that maximize the benefits to the community and the businesses involved.
Focal areas included alternative financing and economic development opportunities, sustainable transportation and eco-tourism.
Working together we can insure an economically viable, environmentally sound and socially responsible community and local economy both now and in the future.
The event itself will apply sustainability principles as well. The facility is LEED Certified and the food and drink will be local and organic to the greatest extent possible. Attendees are encouraged to carpool, bike or take public transportation and to bring their own coffee mug and/ or water bottle to limit the amount of waste produced.
