The 10th Annual Sustainable Communities Workshop will take place on Dec. 3, 2015 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The workshop will bring the community together to reflect on 10 years of sustainability actions and discussions.
Our morning keynote speaker will be morning keynote speaker will be Kaid Benfield, senior counsel for environmental strategies at PlaceMakers LLC based in Washington D.C.
The afternoon keynote speaker will be Jon Thaxton, the Director of Community Investment at the Gulf Coast Community Foundation and former Sarasota County Commissioner.
The workshop will also include the release of a Sustainability Assessment Report and engagement sessions with participants for identification of future priorities.

Our expert speakers will provide up-to-date information on community strategies and resources as well as best practice from other communities.

Sustainable Economic Development
This year, workshop attendees will be active participants in group discussions to identify priority strategies for sustainability improvements in the next 10 years.
Attendees will participate in facilitated discussions on the four workshop topics.
Thoughts and ideas for future strategies will be documented and used in the development of a Sustainability Plan, an update to the 2006 Roadmap to Sustainability.
