Energy/Transportation - What You Can Do

Energy use in an average home can be responsible for more than twice the greenhouse gas emissions of the average car.

Surprised? Consider this: when we use less energy at home, we also reduce greenhouse gas emissions from power plants and help protect our environment from the risks of global climate change.
You can also contact Florida Power and Light to learn about energy audits and money saving rebates in your home.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency tell us that if every American home replaced a single light bulb with an ENERGY STAR-rated bulb, we would save enough energy to light more than 3 million homes for a year.
  • That's more than $600 million in annual energy costs and prevent greenhouse gases equal to emissions from more than 800,000 cars.!

By bringing energy saving into every aspect of your life - work, travel and daily living - you can make a real difference. You can help to minimize the impacts of climate change and realize financial savings at the same time.
