This 11.2-acre preserve was purchased in 2002. The Bayonne parcel provides important cultural resources as well as a refuge for gopher tortoises and other imperiled species.

The preserve has a short loop trail, that traverses its north and east boundaries. Trails are very sandy and open to the elements.

The preserve has limited parking and a walk-thru gate near the entrance. There is also a bike rack located near the entrance. F

  • Turn right onto S. Tamiami Trail/ U.S. 41 N. / FL-45 N
  • Turn left onto Springfield Drive (portions unpaved)
  • End at 8050 Springfield Drive, Sarasota, FL
