Post Date:02/17/2026 12:15 PM

SARASOTA COUNTY – Breeze Transit invites community members to attend a “How to Ride” training session to learn more about its services. The session will take place Monday, Feb. 23, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Breeze Transit administration building, 5303 Pinkney Ave., Sarasota.

Participants will learn about Breeze bus and trolley routes and how to plan a trip, board, pay fares and exit safely. The session includes hands-on training and take-home resources. Staff will also share information about Breeze OnDemand, which provides curb-to-curb service on request, and Breeze Plus, which covers the Americans with Disabilities Act paratransit program, Transportation Disadvantaged services and Veterans Medical transportation programs.

Space is limited. Interested participants can email breeze@scgov.net to reserve a seat.

“Public transportation can feel intimidating for those who haven’t tried it,” said Jane Grogg, director of transit. “Our goal is to give community members the confidence to get where they need to go with dependable, stress-free transportation.”

Current Breeze riders can support newcomers by volunteering as transit ambassadors. Responsibilities include greeting passengers and serving as a resource on the bus. Training is provided. Visit the Volunteer Sarasota County webpage to learn more and submit an application.
