Post Date:09/10/2025 11:00 AM

Sarasota County faces a variety of natural hazards that can impact lives and property. The Sarasota County Unified Local Mitigation Strategy (LMS) Working Group, comprised of the cities of Sarasota, Venice and North Port, the Town of Longboat Key, and several community partners, is updating its current plan to build a strong and resilient community through mitigation projects that address these hazards.

From Sept. 10-24, you can provide feedback about what concerns you most, as well as your vulnerabilities to hazards and what types of projects you’d like to see in action. Start the survey: https://forms.office.com/pages/responsepage.aspx?id=EZ1Sy8zmvEeiH-vAWWJwRwj3j-pLfixHtuJ9cnoFedlUOEk3S0VEQkUzQlc4NU9FVktSTkdEU01KUiQlQCN0PWcu&route=shorturl

Responses will help the LMS team develop a comprehensive plan that will be implemented following approval by the Florida Division of Emergency Management and Federal Emergency Management Agency and adoption by the Sarasota County Commission.
