Tidy up with the Newtown Community Cleanup

SARASOTA COUNTY - It's time to clean out the garage and gather discarded household items, junk and yard waste, as Sarasota County will hold a free community cleanup in the Newtown area from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Aug 12. 

Free dumpsters will be available for your convenience at the following locations: 

  • Newtown Estates Park and Dr. Martin Luther King Way (Main Site).

  • Chilk Avenue and 19th Street. 

  • 23rd Street and Chester Avenue. 

Computers, appliances, electronics, televisions and a maximum of five tires will only be accepted at the main site only. Hazardous waste, including unwanted paint, may be taken to the Sarasota County Chemical Collection Center 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday. The chemical collection center is located at 8750 Bee Ridge Road.
