Myrtle Street improvement project continues Feb. 3
Construction on the Myrtle Street improvement project phase 2B is set to begin Feb. 3.
During construction, Myrtle Street will be closed from Central Avenue to North Orange Avenue, Monday, Feb. 3 through Friday, June 5. A detour will be in place for motorists to guide them through the active area. Motorists are urged to use caution during construction.
In addition, local businesses, pedestrians and emergency vehicles will have access up to the Seminole Gulf Railroad crossing, and Sarasota County Area Transit routes will not be affected.
The Myrtle Street improvement project is being done in multiple phases. Phase 2B is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2020, and phase 2C is anticipated to begin in the fall. Construction cost for this phase is approximately $3 million.
