Improved SCAT bus route to Englewood Beach
SARASOTA COUNTY - Sarasota County Area Transit (SCAT) is starting an improved bus route for beach-goers in Englewood on Nov. 10, just in time for the Veterans Day celebration and the return of the popular Englewood Beach Waterfest.
Route 26 will operate Friday through Sunday only until Dec. 16; following that the route will operate 7 days a week.
- The route starts at 10:45 a.m on Hosmer Avenue and Spruce Street, travels to Dearborn Street and then to the beach roundabout at Englewood Beach.
- Service will be every hour and end at 8:35 p.m.
According to SCAT Marketing, Outreach and Customer Service Supervisor Kendra Keiderling, the new route is a result of conducting community outreach. Englewood residents and business owners felt confident in the improved route and hours to the beach, she said.
