Sarasota County public information officers are in the office 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and rotate on-call and after-hours response.

For general questions and information, residents and visitors should call 311 when in Sarasota County, or 941-861-5000 when outside county limits. 

Lifeguard hours change for county beaches

SARASOTA COUNTY - Sarasota County's beach lifeguard operation hours are changing beginning Sept. 5 due to the end of summer and the close of Labor Day weekend.
 
Lifeguards will be on duty from 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. daily, seven days a week, on Sarasota County's guarded beaches: Lido Beach, Siesta Beach, Nokomis Beach, North Jetty Beach, Venice Beach and Manasota Beach.
