13th Annual Sustainable Communities Workshop

Join us for the 13th Annual Sustainable Communities Workshop on Nov. 29. Expert speakers will focus on the workshop’s “Unique Perspectives for Community Solutions” theme, sharing the latest local strategies and best practices from other communities. Information-rich sessions will provide approaches to grow a sustainable community.
“The Artistic Astronaut” Nicole Stott (www.theartisticastronaut.com), who has explored from the heights of outer space to the depths of our oceans, will deliver the main keynote address. Nicole has dedicated her life to sharing the beauty of Earth with others, striving to create a greater appreciation of, and obligation to care for, our home planet and each other.
Individuals, businesses, institutions, government agencies, and organizations will gather to learn and share community solutions on a variety of themes, including:
- The overview effect, with “The Artistic Astronaut” Nicole Stott
- Plastic pollution solutions
- Environmental communication
- Habitat restoration
- Transportation approaches
- Food systems
The Nov. 29 workshop will be held from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; $35 for early registration, $45 after Oct. 29. Student rate: $25. Registration includes breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. Learn more and register at scgov.net/SustainableCommunities.
