Sarasota County Hazardous Waste and the City of Sarasota will host a household hazardous waste collection event Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Payne Park, 2010 Adams Lane in Sarasota. Entry is from the parking lot off East Avenue, opposite the Department of Health.

The event is only for Sarasota County and City of Sarasota residents. Proof of residency may be requested before any waste is accepted. Sarasota County may limit the amount of waste collected. No commercial or organizational waste will be accepted.

Some examples of the items accepted are aerosols, motor oil, paint, pool chemicals, propane cylinders and electronics (excludes TV’s). Items not accepted are fireworks, fertilizers, ammunition, medications, needles or syringes and tires.
