POSTPONED - UF/IFAS Extension: 4-H Backwoods Life of South County

As Florida 4-H has monitored the COVID-19 pandemic, the health and safety of our 4-H members, families, volunteers, staff and faculty have been the top priority. With that in mind, and following the guidance of UF/IFAS Extension, all in-person 4-H activities have been suspended through July 31. This includes summer programs such as 4-H University, 4-H Legislatures and 4-H residential camps.

For many youth, these summer programs are the highlight of the 4-H year and many are understandably disappointed. However, in the spirit of 4-H, they are focusing on the future and how they can make a positive impact on their communities during this time. All Florida 4-H faculty and staff are working hard to find and implement alternative ways for our 4-H members, volunteers, and families to continue to learn, lead, serve, grow, and belong. We thank the 4-H community for continuing to be so patient, creative, and flexible.

Cloverbuds accepted.

This club focuses on the development of leadership skills through the care and showing of large and small animals, plants, arts and crafts, and community service projects.

We are a general club welcoming all projects, and will focus on learning demonstrations, public speaking, and livestock judging this year.

Meetings are the second Wednesday of each month, 6:30-7:30 p.m., at Nokomis Community Center.
