Comprehensive Plan Update Adoption

 Comprehensive Plan Update

Sarasota County’s Comprehensive Plan guides growth in Sarasota County. The goal is to foster a vibrant and healthy county. The Comp Plan is a vision and road-map for the county’s future. It is the framework for big-picture decisions on how to grow, while preserving, restoring and improving our communities.

On Oct. 25, 2016 the Board of County Commissioners voted to adopt the Comprehensive Plan Update.

The latest draft of the Plan is available under the “Now Available” section.
As the Plan has been split in two volumes, a handy video “CPU Draft Release Presentation Video” will help you become familiar with the location of information.
Each Element has its own page; there, you can find a summary of the Element, related information and the latest drafts.
You can also watch past workshops and meetings on the “Video” page. If you have any questions, check out the FAQs. To see older drafts, email and reference the date and volume of the desired draft.
