County Priorities Survey Results

From June to September 2008, the Sarasota County Priorities Survey was made available for residents to offer input to the County Commissioners on a variety of services.  There were 998 citizens who responded to the survey.

The survey listed nearly 80 county related products or services. Respondents were asked to indicate their preference of the following choices for each of the services listed:

  • "Maintain existing service / funding" if you believe that the product or service should not be changed in any way.

  • “Reduce service / funding” if you believe that Sarasota County Government should reduce the level of service or the amount of funding dedicated to providing that product or service.

  •  "Eliminate service / funding" if you believe that the product or service should not be delivered by Sarasota County Government at all.

  •  "Increase service / funding"  if you believe that Sarasota County Government should increase the level of service or the amount of funding dedicated to providing that product or service.

GREEN – over 60 percent of the respondents want to maintain or increase the funding or service.

YELLOW – respondents had no strong preference.

RED – services that over 60 percent of respondents believe should be reduced or eliminated.
