Office of Housing and
Community Development Rehabilitation Program
The Office of Housing and Community Development currently
offers an owner occupied rehabilitation program for low-income
residents within Sarasota County, the city of Sarasota and the
city of North Port. The maximum assistance provided is $60,000
in the form of a 0 percent interest loan that is deferred as
long as the home is owner occupied.
The rehabilitation program is an
ideal way to improve the energy efficiency of your home for
long-term energy savings. While not limited to only energy
improvements, OHCD can work with Sarasota residents and their
selected contractors to ensure that rehabilitated homes include
ENERGY STAR® windows and vent and ceiling fans, use recycled and
efficient insulation, and that all toilets, showerheads and
bathroom faucets will minimize water usage. All of these
retrofits can lead to significantly reduced energy and natural
resource use within homes. For more information, call Sherina
Roberson-Roden at 941-951-3640 ext. 3776 or visit the

Sarasota, Housing and Community Development website. |
