Homeowners will only be eligible for rebate or loan funds if the work has been completed by a Participating Contractor pursuant to the specifications identified in the Program Guidelines. Work through the Loan program must be completed by Participating Contractors that have opted in to participation in that program. Those Loan Contractors are indicated by a shading of the row in the table below. The rebate funds will be paid directly to the homeowner. The Participating Contractor will work directly for the homeowners and receive payment only from them. There will be no contractual or fiduciary relationship between the county/cities and the Participating Contractors.

Sarasota County and the cities of Sarasota and North Port and Venice are providing information concerning these Participating Contractors to homeowners as a convenience only. The county and cities make no representation or warrantees as to the performance or abilities of the Participating Contractor nor is the listing to be considered an endorsement of any such contractor. Homeowners are encouraged to get at least three quotes for each project and to make their own inquiries as to the reputation and reliability of a Participating Contractor before engaging their service. One resource for checking past performance is the Better Business Bureau. Homeowners should satisfy themselves as to any necessary warrantees or guarantees for products or services provided. 

In addition to rebates through this program, you may qualify for an FPL Rebate if you meet FPL's requirements. Homeowners should understand that in order to take advantage of both the Get Energy Smart Retrofit Program rebates and those from FPL (on heating and cooling, ducts or insulation), the contractor doing the work must be prequalified by both programs. For homes built before 1978, any contractor doing work that would disturb more than six square feet of painted surface must follow the EPA lead renovation, repair and painting rule which requires EPA certification for specific lead safety work practices that must be followed. Homeowners who are implementing energy improvements that would disturb more than the indicated square footage are encouraged to select Participating Contractors that have such a
Certification.
