Homeowners will
only be eligible for rebate or loan funds if the work has been
completed by a
Participating Contractor pursuant to the
specifications identified in the Program Guidelines. The rebate
and loan funds will be paid directly to the homeowner. The
Participating Contractor will work
directly for the homeowners and receive payment only from them.
There will be no contractual or fiduciary relationship between
the county/cities and the
Participating Contractors.
Sarasota County
and the cities of Sarasota and North Port and Venice are
providing information concerning these
Participating Contractors to homeowners as
a convenience only. The county and cities make no representation
or warrantees as to the performance or abilities of the
Participating Contractor nor is the
listing to be considered an endorsement of any such
contractor. Homeowners are encouraged to get at least three
quotes for each project and to make their own inquiries as to
the reputation and reliability of a
Participating Contractor before engaging
their services. One resource for checking
past performance is the
Better Business Bureau.
Homeowners should satisfy themselves as to any
necessary warrantees or guarantees for products or services
provided.

In order to
maximize the impact of this program on our local economy,
homeowners are encouraged to select a local contractor and
purchase supplies from local retail establishments whenever
possible. The Participating Contractors that completed the Local
Business Affidavit are indicated in the Participating Contractor
listings.
How can a contractor
become a participating contractor for the Get Energy Smart
Retrofit Program?
Contractors interested in providing
services through the Get Energy Smart Retrofit Program must fill
in the
Request for Qualification
form
(see below) and attach additional documentation as outlined in the
“Qualifications Requested” section of the Request for
Qualifications solicitation document. The materials should be
submitted electronically to

Loan Participating Contractor Agreement
:
Participating Contractors must opt in to participating in
the loan program specifically to confirm they understand the
steps involved and the expectations in assisting customers.
This is in addition to the Request for Qualifications
documents above
The Response Forms will be
reviewed once per month and applicants will be notified of the
status following that review. Applications must be received by
the first of the month and, following any correspondence by
staff, must be complete and approved by the tenth of the month
to be included in that month’s website update by the 20th
of the month. Any incomplete applications as of the tenth will
be included in the following month’s review and update.
