"My Own Home" is a local program that
provides financial assistance to help people buy a home. Funds
for this program came from a federally sponsored initiative
called
The Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP). A
total of $7.1 million dollars has been granted by the Department
of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to acquire foreclosed or
abandoned properties, repair and renovate as required, and sell
to income qualified households. More detailed and technical

Sarasota County, through the
Office
of Housing and Community Development (OHCD),
has partnered with local non-profit developers to identify
