The modified Aetna Point-of-Service
(Choice POS II) plan contains co-pays for office visits and urgent care
needs, similar to the HMO, along with an annual deductible plus a
co-insurance requirement up to a maximum out-of-pocket limit. Services
obtained from network providers are reimbursed at higher levels, but
coverage is also available for out-of-network services. Participants may
select a primary care physician (PCP), but referrals are not required
for specialist care. Use
Aetna DocFind®
to locate a network provider.
The Choice POS II plan offers an enhanced specialist network - the
Aexcel® network. These
providers have demonstrated cost-efficiency in the delivery of care
and have met certain defined measures of clinical performance.
Additionally, by using
Aexcel® providers,
participants will pay a lower copay than for non-Aexcel providers. For
outpatient or hospital care involving Aexcel providers, participants
receive reimbursement at 90 percent after satisfaction of the deductible
instead of the standard 80 percent reimbursement.
Aexcel® providers can be
found by using
Aetna DocFind® and
