Less than three years after obtaining its first 10
diesel-electric hybrid buses, Sarasota County Area
Transit (SCAT) has added four of the smaller hybrid buses that
are expected to be even more fuel-efficient and less costly to
operate.

Selby Library, 1331 First St., Sarasota, is now featuring works
from artists Ali Light and Steve Capri. The exhibit, "Similar
Contradictions," will be on display through Sept. 30 and
features works of art created through the use of nontraditional
materials including leaves, dirt, tar, plaster and concrete.

Citizens Budget Task Force, which held its introductory meeting
June 15, has released its meeting schedule to meet with
executive and department heads during July.
The task force will meet on July 1,
15 and 29 to review the county's proposed fiscal year 2010
