Environmental Policy Task Force
Governing Legislation:
Resolution: R2009-101
Purpose: To advise the County Commission in implementation of Comprehensive Plan Policies 4.4.3. and 4.5.6. and in translating the data from the 2008 Native Habitat Land Cover Map and Risk Assessment into policy amendments. The Task Force will act at the direction of the County Commission to recommend changes to policies and procedures defined in the Principles for Evaluating Development Proposals in Native Habitats and the standards within the Land Development Regulations.
Requirements: All members should demonstrate an interest and knowledge in issues relating to the conservation and management of native habitats.- Members must be familiar with the county’s standards for conserving and managing native habitats contained in Chapter 2, the Environment, of the Sarasota County Comprehensive Plan, and the Land Development Regulations.
- Members must be a resident of Sarasota County for the term of the Task Force.
- To qualify, members cannot hold an elective office or be employed by the Sarasota County Commissioners.
Term: Two years
Meetings: Quarterly (Dates TBD)
