FOVCC mission: The
mission of the
Friends of the Venice Community Center (VCC) is
to:
- improve facilities at the
VCC by purchase, lease or otherwise
- to assist in fundraising for
construction, maintenance and operation of such facilities
- to buy, sell, lease and hold
title to real or personal property
- to promote knowledge and
informed interest in the functions and services of the VCC
- to raise and contribute
funds for the purpose of the VCC, and to support the
development of a program for the extension and improvement
of the Center’s offerings
Volunteer membership of the
corporation is open to individuals of good character who are
over the age of eighteen and are residents of the Venice
community or surrounding area in Sarasota County.

| FOVCC history: The
Friends of Venice Community Center were Chartered by the State
of Florida on Dec. 14, 1979. Since then, the Friends have raised
over $300,000 for major and minor aesthetic, structural, and
mechanical improvements. Their efforts are directed toward
providing new improvements, supporting social activities, and
toward maintaining the existing facility. Most recently, the
Friends donated $25,000 toward the refurbishment of this
wonderful Center. Examples of other donations include, a
State-of-the-Art Sound Board, Stage Curtains, Projectors, Large
Screens, Dressing Room Vanities, Assorted Art and Furnishings,
Kitchen Equipment, etc. The list goes on and on and there are
always more improvements and new programs on the horizon. |
