The International Association of Firefighters (IAFF) has been certified by the Florida Public Employees Relations Commission (PERC) to represent employees. The IAFF is comprised of approximately 488 employees in Local 2546 who serve as Fire Medics, Paramedics, EMS Supervisors, Lieutenants, Training Captains and Battalion Chiefs.

Sarasota County's contract with Local 2546 will expire Sept. 30, 2011. Negotiations will begin soon on the next contract.
