Notice of JARC Grant Selection Committee Meeting
Sarasota County Transportation Authority (SCTA) announced the availability of a grant application for FY2006 Job Access and Reverse Commute (JARC) funds.

Applications for 2006 JARC funding received by 5 p.m. on July 29, 2008, will be reviewed and scored at 10 a.m. on July 31, by the Selection Committee for the Locally Coordinated Human Services Transportation Plan (LCHSTP).

The Selection Committee is open to the public and will be held in the Sarasota County Area Transit Administrative Conference Room located at 5303 Pinkney Ave., Sarasota, FL. Call 861-5000 for more information.


SCAT Summer Youth Passes are back by popular demand
The Summer Youth Passes are available at

  • SCAT office, 5303 Pinkney Ave., Sarasota, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
  • Downtown Transfer Station ticket booth, 1565 First St., Sarasota, Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., and Friday, 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
  • North Port City Hall, 4970 City Hall Blvd., North Port, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

SCAT Summer Youth Pass Flyer

Proof of age is required for purchase, and accepted forms of payment are cash or check (cash only at the Downtown Transfer Station). Credit cards are not accepted. The Summer Youth Pass can be used on all SCAT routes, excluding SCAT Plus and the Veterans bus, and is not transferable.


Longboat Key Trolley
Beginning June 14, 2008, MCAT will partner with SCAT in operating the Longboat Key Trolley from Coquina Beach on Anna Maria Island to downtown Sarasota via Longboat Key and St. Armands Circle. Daily service runs from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. every 30 minutes. Trolleys offer both air conditioned and open-air seating. The fare is $.75.
