Mission: To program manage, plan,
design, construct, operate, and maintain county facilities,
mobility systems, and water resources in a way that reflects and
sustains community values.
Public Works is
responsible for the core services of Mobility and Facilities.
Mobility focuses on maintaining and enhancing the
quality of life for residents and visitors to Sarasota County by
serving their mobility needs in harmony with the natural
environment.
Mobility involves multimodal transportation,
providing a wide range of services such as planning, designing,
building, connecting and maintaining roads, sidewalks and
bridges, as well as trails, bicycle and walking paths.
Transit
service is also a major component of meeting the community’s
mobility needs.
Facilities
Services oversees long-range planning, space planning,
construction, maintenance and repairs of public buildings and
grounds, as well as energy and water usage in public facilities |
