Sarasota County Planning and
Development Services Code Enforcement performs field investigations for
complaints received relating to ordinance violations. We also
issue courtesy notices, notices or violation and citations for
ordinance violations.

Violations Referral Guide
- Code Compliance presents
ordinance violation cases to the special magistrate and conducts the abatement of junk
cars, debris and excessive vegetation from private properties.
- Code Compliance pro-actively conducts
inspections locating and determining unfit/unsafe structures and
coordinates the demolition or rehabilitation of the structures
through voluntary compliance or enforcement abatement.
- Code Enforcement coordinates neighborhood clean
up programs and coordinates inspections with other county
business center services to provide complete and timely closure
of large projects.

water restrictions

mandatory sewer connection requirements (pay capacity fees,
connection to central sewer system and crush and fill of
septic tank)

well set back requirements from sanitary sewer lines
