Planning Commission
Planning Commission

Purpose: Planning Commission, as the LPA, is obligated to interpret and advise Sarasota County Commissioners on the adoption and the amendment to the Comprehensive Plan as well as land use applications filed pursuant to state statute or existing county ordinances.

Requirements: Shall be county residents for at least two years. Requirements revised by Ordinance No. 2001-005, changing requirements from five to two years. Required to file financial disclosure.

Term: Four Years.

Meetings: First and third Thursday of every month at 6:30 p.m. Special meetings called on as-needed basis.
