Adopted on Oct. 12, 1999, the
Osprey Revitalization Plan provides a framework for the
preservation, revitalization and long-term development of
the Osprey Village Center. The Osprey Revitalization
Committee (ORC) meets on the last Monday of each month to
make recommendations or provide advice to the county
regarding implementation of the adopted Osprey
Revitalization Plan.
The ORC is currently
developing a Waterfront Revitalization Plan for the area bounded
by Sarasota Bay on the west, U.S. Highway 41 on the east, Bay
Street on the north, and Hidden Bay on the south. Based on
public input from two special workshops, the ORC has adopted a
vision statement and is working to amend the Osprey
Revitalization Plan to include a walkable, mixed-use district
with public access to the waterfront.
