The purpose of the plans are
to coordinate future land uses including issues of timing and
the intensity of land uses.
East Venice Avenue
The east Venice Avenue Plan is to provide a framework for the
preservation, planning, and development of properties within the
east Venice Avenue Area. This area includes properties along
the south side of the road and north to Interstate 75 with north
River Road as the eastern boundary and Jacaranda Boulevard as
the western boundary. The Sarasota County Board of
Commissioners imposed a temporary moratorium on the future
zoning changes in the planning area pending completion of the
plan.
Simple Form Based Code,
established access management plan, use of and improvement of
the platted roads, connectivity, utilities, innovative
stormwater techniques, landscaping and architecture. Rezoning must consider block plans for future possibilities on
other properties not part of the request, arch. standards,
hurricane shelter, public/civic or playground space, at least
two
use categories if fronting east Venice Avenue.
