How is
the grant funding awarded?
A minimum score of 65 is necessary to be considered for funding. Funds may be allocated based
on scores in descending order until the funds are depleted.
Application scores,
the Neighborhood Initiative Grant Advisory Committee comments
and recommendations are available for review.Public Benefit – up to
30 Points
- Is the project accessible to the general
public? If not, what plans have you made to share your
project with the general public?
- Is the project on common or publicly
owned land?
- How does the project add to the value of
surrounding neighborhoods?
- How does the project enhance the safety
or quality of life of all citizens?
- How does the project provide a more
attractive environment for the community?
- How does the project improve the health and
welfare of the general public?
Community Strengthening – up to
25 Points
Explain how the proposed project will
strengthen and improve the neighborhood. List specific
goals.
Community Need - up to 25
points
- Why does the neighborhood need the grant
funding to accomplish the project?
- How well does the application describe or
communicate a community need or outcome?
Community
Support – up to 20 Points
- Does the application show evidence of
neighborhood consensus for the project?
- Does it show resident involvement in the
implementation?
Can I submit more
than one grant?
Applicants may submit more than one application per
grant cycle, but only one grant per neighborhood will be awarded
per cycle. Recipients of a grant from this program are not
eligible to receive any other grant from the county to aid in
this specific project.
